Liverpool haven’t had the most successful season in terms of positioning, but in terms of transition they can see it as an achievement. Former Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers has implemented his passing game into the Reds system and they are looking to start playing near the standard that the Irishman wants from his men.
Also, his belief in the youth of his squad is a major part of what he is trying to do at the club – although you don’t win anything with kids, do you Mr Hansen?
They are now in a battle with West Brom, Everton and maybe Arsenal for a spot in the top five, although it is unlikely that they succeed in that.
Here we take a look at the Reds top performers this season and their statistics to back it up.
To start the list we look at Joe Allen, who narrowly missed out on the top 5.
The Welshman is yet to score in the Premier League for the Reds, but has a pass accuracy of 90% and has created 21 chances for his teammates in his debut season at Anfield. Allen wins 56% of his duels on average, and that includes 65% of his attempted tackles and 69% of his attempted take ons.
