Tottenham’s attempts at freshening up their squad for next season could start with the departure of the unimpressive Emmanuel Adebayor, according to The Mirror.
The Togolese frontman’s reputation has taken a battering this season after only scoring two goals and missing a crucial penalty in Spurs’ Europa League clash with FC Basel. His lethargic and somewhat half-arsed displays have frustrated fans at White Hart Lane and it now seems that Andre Villas-Boas has lost patience.
Amongst the potential suitors is former club Monaco after they won promotion back to the French topflight, but his £100,000 a week wages could prove a stumbling block. With Gareth Bale hogging the headlines this campaign Adebayor is struggling to cope with the shadow he is playing in, and with AVB’s continued interest in Brazilian goal-gobbler Leandro Damiao it looks certain that Emmanuel will be no more.
In light of this news, we have have come up with a solution. He could look for another club, but why bother when his talents are so obviously in the art of dance. The lanky forward has become a renowned mover, both as a celebration and in the dressing room, and could try his hand at Strictly Come Dancing or perhaps audition for Step Up.
Let’s face it, football doesn’t need him, does it?
