Bayern Munich the first to sniff around Arsenal star

The transfer window is a worrying time for Arsenal fans as it is and it seems this could be another filled with cold sweets and sleepless nights, with The Metro reporting that European power houses Bayern Munich could be set to target prized asset Jack Wilshere.

The window is normally associated with waving good bye to key players at the Emirates, with Robin van Persie, Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri just a few of the names who have been taken away from the club in recent years so the this latest transfer rumour will be of real concern to those involved with the club. Wilshere is seen as the future of Arsenal, a man who can drive the club back to trophy winning days so keeping him will be imperative.

That said holding off interest from the German and potential European champions is going to be easier said than done, particularly given that working with Pep Guardiola will bring its own lure. On the Gunner’s side and a factor which they have not bee able to use as a bargaining tool in recent battles to keep key players is that Wilshere is Arsenal through and through and getting him to leave would take some almighty negotiations. Further to that given Bayern’s current rich resources it is hard to see how first team football can be offered, although that seemingly did not deter the likes of Alex Song, Nasri and even Fabregas from seeking a move but it is hard to see Wilshere leaving the club he has always loved without that.

With Guardiola not even in the Munich hotseat these reports are probably premature, however they should act as a warning that the vultures may soon come looking for the jewel in the Arsenal crown. The Metro do allure to the fact that the youngster is unlikely to be interest in a move anytime soon but Bayern will sniff again the longer Wilshere goes without lifting a trophy with Arsenal, with that in mind the best way to keep captain Jack is to strengthen the current army.
