Chelsea could make £15m defender first signing of the season

With Chelsea still looking for a new manager for next season, although a certain Portuguese chap is likely to be appointed, they continue to sound out transfer targets to fight off the Manchester clubs in order to regain the Premier League trophy. This time, according to the Express, the man in contention for a move to the Bridge is Southampton starlet Luke Shaw.

However, there is a twist, the Blues will have to fight off competition from London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham for the youngster’s signature. Arsene Wenger will be stood cross armed in his kitchen as we speak moaning to his cat that those ‘big boys’ are picking on him again.

The 17-year-old has excelled in the English topflight this season and is highly likely to depart from St Mary’s in the summer as the cash begins to be flashed, especially if manager Mauricio Pochettino quits as he has threatened.

Shaw has the pick of the Premier League but seems to be fond of the capital as he was born in the city and has recently revealed that he is a lifelong Chelsea fan. Unlucky north London, that’s 1-0 to the west.

Will we see the youngster burstin down the wing at Stamford Bridge next season? Well, yes. He is a Southampton player afterall…
