Robin van Persie has won the Premier League’s golden boot in both the last two seasons and has scored some very impressive goals along the way. Some of the volleys he has scored in his career with Arsenal and Man Utd have been truly spectacular as there aren’t many players in the world right now who have better technique than the Dutchman. Let’s now count down three of his best volleys in his career to date.
3. Charlton (September 2006)
A sumptuous strike back in 2006 that saw him announce himself in England. He was known for his injuries which plagued him in his early Arsenal career but this goal was one of the finest in his career. Emmanuel Eboue hit a hopeful cross to the edge of the Charlton box and van Persie ran out of nowhere to smash it in the top corner from 20 yards. A stunning goal.
2. Everton (December 2011)
Van Persie was in the form of his career in the 2011-12 season and this volley against Everton sums him up. With one kick of the right boot, he showed what an unbelievable talent he is. With the ball dropping over his head, he hit an Alex Song pass first time in off the right hand post past the helpless Tim Howard.
1.Aston Villa (April 2013)
The goal this season to clinch Man Utd’s title in a game where he collected a hat-trick was almost a carbon copy of his goal against Everton but on a larger scale. Wayne Rooney’s executed a pin-point pass from his own half and Van Persie hit it from 25 yards out straight into the bottom right corner. It was truly unbelievable technique.
