There a still a few players who haven’t been snapped up yet from the Championship and would be foolish to let them stay there.
Firstly, I’m not slating the Championship in any way, if anything it’s more exciting at times than the Premier League, but obviously not of the same quality. Close, though. Wigan have lost Arouna Kone to Everton, as well as their manager, but they have loads more talent waiting to be picked up in my eyes. James MaCarthy has caught the attention of many clubs during the previous season and was touted to join Arsenal, a player who can play defensively, central and attacking midfield and is competent at right full back. I’d take him any day of the week and twice on a Sunday, he may not be first team worthy of Arsenal, but he can do a job to a reasonable level.
You’ve got Callum Mcmanaman, too, a player who emerged in the second half of the season with his “tackle” on Massimo Haidara when playing against Newcastle. A witch hunt would then ensue for his head but then everyone found out he’s English, young and quite good and all was forgotten. Perhaps he will stay with Wigan and play a season in the Championship for experience and match time.
Loic Remy is obviously much better than the Championship level but stories in the press suggest he just isn’t attracting much interest and could possibly end up staying at QPR in the Championship next season. Maybe he’s being stubborn with his wage demands, he’s probably on a cushty little number at the Hoops, but is evidently a quality player.
Julio Cesar, the Brazilian number one goalkeeper is still in the Championship ladies and gentleman. Yes you read that right, Brazil’s BEST goalkeeper. I think reports suggest he will be loaned to Napoli in the coming days, though. Now I think this is a bit of a wild card, but Jean Beausejour is a fantastic left-wing back and could go to Italy and find huge amounts of success, as they are more prone to operating with three at the back and five in midfield, he’s strong, rapido quick and can deliver a cross like a mother, I’m a fan.
