Jermaine Beckford: Goalscorer (Video)

Jermaine Beckford saw his competitive debut for Bolton end in a draw against Burnley at Turf Moor.  He didn’t get on the scoresheet this weekend, but don’t expect that to happen too often.

If Jermaine Beckford was born to do anything, it was to score goals.  He has proven at every level that, given the chance, he will put the ball in the net.  From Wealdstone to Everton, he started from the bottom and his talent enable him to make his way to the top.  After spending a good period of his career in League One, he has now settled in the Championship and will be looking to get back amongst the goals for his new club.

Beckford first made the headlines with Leeds United, scoring at Old Trafford as the Yorkshire club caused a massive upset against the Red Devils in the FA Cup.  Knocking Manchester United out of the competition saw the striker become a hero amongst Leeds fans, especially as the Whites were a League One club at the time and therefore two divisions below their opponents.  They wouldn’t be for long though, as Beckford’s goals helped the Yorkshire club climb back to the Championship via a second-placed finish in the league.

He just about managed to get into double figures during his lone season in the top flight with Everton, which was impressive considering he was not always in the starting lineup.  An incredible solo finish in his last game for the club against Chelsea summed up exactly what the player was all about.

Bolton are well-fancied to make a return to the Premier League soon.  Will Beckford find the net enough to make it happen?
