Arsenal Could Beat Manchester United To Midfielder With 90% Pass Accuracy

Although the £42m signing of Mesut Ozil was hailed as an impressive one by Arsene Wenger, some are still suggesting that the money could have been better spent throughout the Arsenal squad. But some people are never happy, are they? One of those positions was in the centre of defence, while other had their heart set on a powerful defensive midfielder in the Yaya Toure mould. Now, this man may not be build in the same way as Manchester City’s bullish Ivorian, but Sami Khedira is a signing that most Premier League clubs would jump at, and the Daily Star are reporting that a move to the Emirates may be on in January.

The paper suggest that the Germany international is missing Ozil already and is keen to get over to north London to dabble in the English topflight with him.

All together now – Awwww.

There is obviously more to the story than the friendship, but we can’t speculate, so let’s just take a look at his statistics from the opening four games of La Liga.

Khedira has appeared in three of these under new manager Carlo Ancelotti, and offered next to nothing going forward. But being a defensive midfielder, and having the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Isco and Gareth Bale in your side, you don’t need to.

He has completed 90% of his passes, which is an impressive figure, and won 2/3 of his attempted tackles.

However, the paper also suggest that Manchester United will be in for his services, so we may have a scrap on our hands.

What do you reckon Arsenal fans? Is this the answer to your anchorman woes?
