Premier League Preview – Gameweek 5

Here is a short preview and score prediction for all 6 Premier League matches this Saturday.

Norwich v Aston Villa. Home advantage is likely to prove a big factor for The Canaries at Carrow Road in this weekend’s early kick-off with fans keen to get one over on former boss Paul Lambert. This being said, I can’t see either side holding out for a clean sheet. Prediction: 1-1.

Liverpool v Southampton. After an enthralling Monday night fixture against Swansea, we’ll be lucky to see as much action at Anfield for the visit of the Saints – who themselves don’t have a great record on Merseyside. The loss of Philippe Coutinho adding to Luis Suarez’ suspension means that loanee Victor Moses is poised to play ahead of Aspas who, quite frankly, has been poor so far this campaign. Prediction: 2-1 Liverpool.

Newcastle v Hull. A return to St James’ Park for Steve Bruce, something he will know all too well from his days at Manchester United, Wigan and Sunderland! A decent first few matches for the Toon was turned into an impressive one with a 2-1 win at Villa Park last time out – whilst Hull settled for a point at home to fellow newcomers Cardiff. Quality should outshine grit and determination in this one. Prediction: 1-0 Newcastle.

West Brom v Sunderland. 19th play 20th in this foot of the table clash – surely one of these sides will come away with their first 3 points? Di Canio sprung a couple of surprise results in order to steer his side to safety earlier this year and i’ve got a feeling his team may surprise us again against Albion. Prediction: 2-1 Sunderland.

West Ham v Everton. An unbeaten start to life at his new club for Roberto Martinez who has been full of optimism at the way his side are developing with each passing game. The Hammers too, have enjoyed a respectable beginning yet defeat in their last home fixture to Stoke will have dampened the recent mood. Prediction: 2-1 West Ham.

Chelsea v Fulham. A comprehensive home victory is in order I think, especially with the disappointment of losing up at Goodison last week. Prediction: 3-0 Chelsea.
