It seems to be panic stations at Manchester United recently, with David Moyes’ future at the club already being questioned despite being just a few months into his six year contract. It seems ridiculous to me, so here are three reasons why I believe the Old Trafford side can still win the Premier League this season.
1) Fat man and Robin
There isn’t another striker partnership in the Premier League as strong as these two, in my opinion. Robin van Persie proved his worth last season with 25 league goals, and Wayne Rooney is firing on all cylinders at present, recently becoming only the fourth Manchester United player to score over 200 goals.
These two, if they steer clear of injuries, backed up by Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck, can fire United to the title.
2) Strength in depth
Despite only singing Marouane Fellaini in the summer, The United squad still looks a strong one. The midfield trio of Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley and Fellaini could be complimented by the creativity of Shinji Kagawa, and looking at the strength of their defensive options, you’d have to say that between the sticks is the only place where they need reinforcements.
3) Moyes is mild
Unlike Jose Mourinho, David Moyes is a reserved character who plays his cards close to his chest while holding a huge amount of experience in the Premier League, unlike Manuel Pellegrini. My belief is that it will be between United and Arsenal come the end of the season, if the Gunners can strengthen, but United will come out on top.
I believe that the shrewdness of Moyes will shine through eventually.
