David Moyes must be wishing the ground could swallow him up at present. If the former Everton boss wants to prove his doubters wrong, however, he needs to plump his chest out and keep plugging away with what he believes in. One man who could help him in that mission is Barcelona’s Sergi Roberto, according to the Metro.
The Spaniard has impressed with his creative performances in the midfield of Barcelona – both the B side and the senior side – but is apparently available for as little as £6m, which Moyes is apparently more than happy to take up.
The 21-year-old represented Barca B on 106 occasions while his first team appearance tally currently stands at 15. He already has 2 La Liga trophies, 2 Spanish Cups and a Copa del Rey under his belt, as well as a little trophy called the Champions League, and has represented Spain from U17 up to the U21 stages.
He has also played twice for Catalonia.
The explosive playmaker is seen as the perfect fit for United, with his guile what is needed next to the awareness of Michael Carrick and the power of Marouane Fellaini.
Roberto has just 18 months left on his contract at Camp Nou.
