3 Reasons Why A Move To Manchester United Could Be A Good One For £6m Target

The Metro are reporting that David Moyes is keen on signing Newcastle United midfielder Cheik Tiote this January in a deal worth £6m. Here are three reasons why it may be a good one, should it transpite.

1) Fills the gap

There is supposedly a problem with Manchester United’s midfield which Marouane Fellaini hasn’t filled. David Moyes struggled to secure his summer transfers and is likely to recruit in the new year, and central midfield will surely the top of the priority list.

With Michael Carrick the pass-master, and Marouane Fellaini the driving force, Cheik Tiote could prove to be the link between the two.

The Ivorian has completed 88% of his passes this season with Toon.

2) New Lease of life

The powerhouse has failed to retain the sort of form that he showed in his early Newcastle days, and in my opinion a switch away, especially to a bigger side, would rekindle that.

Last season the 27-year-old hit the target with just 8% of his shots last season, while making four defensive errors.

Stick him in a side which plays attractive football and it’ll transform him into the player he once was.

3) Style

Which moves us onto my next point. Manchester United play fast, attacking football while keeping the ball on the floor. Newcastle, on the other hand, are intent on lumping it forward and overlooking their midfield talent.

Stick Tiote in a footballing side and watch him flourish.
