My final piece and final match compilation is of someone different to Mesut Ozil. Gnabry is young, very young in fact, and to be thrown into the deep end at such a young age will be very daunting for the player. That is the reason why a few of his performances have been somewhat lacking in composure.
However, he really turned things on against Swansea, showing the reason Wenger has put faith in him and why people should believe the hype. In this game, Serge managed to find the net and register his first goal for Arsenal. The first of many I’m sure. His overall performance was positive and he genuinely excited me and most of the Gunners’ fanbase. However, people usually followed up that statement with something to do with them being more comfortable with Theo Walcott or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the side. Which, for the record, I totally agree with.
With the return of Theo Walcott imminent and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain not far off, Gnabry’s chances in the team will become more and more sporadic, but he will not have done any damage to his chances of playing regularly for Arsenal in the future.
