Arsenal opened up a two point cushion at the top of the Premier League this weekend with a comprehensive 4-1 win over Norwich, so here’s a statistical look (using Squawka’s statistical ratings which you can find here) at who the Gunners’ top five performances have been so far.
1) Aaron Ramsey
Who else? The Wales international has been on fire this season and has already scored nine goals in 12 games, as well as making 11 key passes. Ramsey has also completed 34/40 of his tackles and 13/20 of his take ons.
2) Olivier Giroud
The Frenchman came under some stick last season because of a mixed debut season at the Emirates, but he has hit the ground running this time round. With four goals in his eight appearances in the league this term, and another 14 chances created, and has won 59% of his duels.
3) Per Mertesacker
The giant German has been as solid as ever this season in his seven appearances this term and has been a huge reason behind the Gunners’ success at the back. Not only has he won 5/5 of his tackles, 15/23 of his headers and averaged six defensive actions per game, the 29-year-old has completed 92% of his passes.
4) Mesut Ozil
The Germany international has transformed the club both on and off the pitch this season and has been his usual creative self. Ozil has created 14 Premier League chances and scored two goals.
5) Bacary Sagna
The right-back has played both on the flank and in the central areas and has impressed in both. He has won 19/31 of his headers and 4/4 of his tackles.
