The north London derby is one that stretches back centuries and has seen some famous battles over the years. There is a raw hatred between Arsenal and Tottenham, but it seems as though it’s not only on field battles that we can look forward to this season. The Express are reporting that they are ready to go head to head for the services of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
The 18-year-old has impressed immensely over the last year in the limited time he has been on the pitch, playing six Ligue 1 games last term and 8/10 of the club’s fixtures this time round. He scored his first goal for the club against Guingamp at the end of August and has created four chances, despite being a bit-part player.
It’s his composure on the ball that impresses, though, especially as a young lad. Rabiot has completed 91% of his passes this season which matches that of the much sought after Marco Verratti.
Both Arsenal and Spurs have thrived in the midfield areas this season so far – with Sandro, Paulinho and Christian Eriksen making up the latter, and Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere and Mathieu Flamini the former – so to be linked with Rabiot isn’t the most natural.
However, at 18 he is very much one for the next couple of years rather than an instant key player.
