While some still claim that La Liga is still a two-team league, with Barcelona and Real Madrid dominating proceedings, they have been proved wrong by Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid. Not only have they beaten their city rivals Real already this term, but they have won 8/9 of their games and are running the pair close to the top spot – and it’s been largely down to the form of one man.
Diego Costa has been impeccable this season and has caused a wave of interested in his services. The 25-year-old has scored 10 goals in nine league games and has generally been a pain in the side of the Spanish topflight all term.
He has also scored another two goals in the Champions League in the one game he has played, as well as accumulating a shot accuracy of 73% on the league.
For me, Costa is ideal for Chelsea. He’s big, strong and is a real physical presence, which is the typical Jose Mourinho striker. He’s nothing like what they have at the moment in Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o and is a far more composed figure in front of goal.
He also created chances, 17 this season, and is loves to have a crack at goal from all angles.
Will Mourinho agree with me and swoop for the Brazilian?
