Just as Arsenal got rid of one player with a dodgy haircut in the shape of Gervinho, the Daily Star are reporting that they’re in for another – Fiorentina’s Juan Guillermo Cuadrado.
While Arsene Wenger has one of the strongest midriffs in the Premier League, there are areas on the pitch that the Gunners want to reinforce. The defence has been the main priority for a while now, as well as a new, big money frontman, but the wings are also looking bare because of the injuries to Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Lukas Podolski, so the link to the Colombia international only seems natural.
The 25-year-old can also play at right-back, which could come in handy should Bacary Sagna leave the club. Cuadrado is an important player to the Serie A side, contributing to 36 of their league games last season.
He created 52 chances and scored five goals, something which he has continued this season. He has scored two goals in six Serie A games and another two in the Europa League, as well as claiming two assists.
Arsenal are in need of a pacey winger who is comfortable at tracking back and helping out the shaky defence, and this man seems to fit the bill.
