Despite Manchester United’s 3-1 victory at Fulham this afternoon, the Red Devils still sit eight in the Premier League. Things are starting to look up for the Old Trafford side, though, with David Moyes now leading the club to a seven match unbeaten streak and they are now only three points away from second place. And another factor that will excite United will be the Metro’s reports that Moyes is lining up a move for Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus.
For me, Reus is one of the best on the planet at what he does. His reactions are so quick and his technique is so polished that even the most established defenders in world football can look foolish trying to defend against him.
He can roam on either flank and cut inside with ease, which is exactly what Manchester United are looking for. While Robin van Persie leads the line and Wayne Rooney supports, United lack a real creative force around the pair. Antonio Valencia is a strong player, Ashley Young is a skilful player and Marouane Fellaini is an essential part of the side, but there is no other player that can spark the magic like Reus.
The Germany international has already scored six goals this season in the Bundesliga and another in the Champions League, while creating 40 chances.
Reus is a cut above anything that United currently possess in the middle of the pitch and could very well be the difference should they have the opportunity to snap him up in the new year, in my opinion.
