Potential Chelsea Ins And Outs This January – Where Should The Blues Strengthen?

After 10 Premier League games played we are now heading into the festive season, which means we will soon be seeing the opening of the January transfer window. Bring a Blues fan I have had a look at the club’s potential ins and outs based on the opening few months.

Where are they weak?

Up top. The Blues’ trio of Demba Ba, Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto’o have scored just two between them this whole Premier League season  and the former has contributed zero of them.

The rest of the squad looks solid to me, although another centre-back may be necessary on the back of David Luiz’s shoddy form.

Flops?

Eto’o has hardly hit the heights that was hoped in the summer, and Mourinho looks to have had enough of Kevin de Bruyne.

Luiz’s form has fallen through the floor since the arrival of the Portuguese boss and it’s been mentioned that he might be out of the door.

Potential outs?

Luiz, de Bruyne and Michael Essien would get my vote, even if it’s just a loan switch.

Who have they been linked with?

Eliaquim Mangala – Porto

Diego Costa – Atletico Madrid

Wayne Rooney – Manchester United

Sami Khedira – Real Madrid

Who do they need?

A swoop for any of the top three in that list could be the difference between the Blues winning the title and just challenging. Their forward line is in desperate need of reinforcements, in my eyes.
