Arsenal fans, I am here to bring you joy. I am here to spread some cheer amidst your bright start to the season and to relieve you of your forward woes. No, I won’t be signing for the club myself, but this young man might be. Reports are doing the rounds regarding a 17-year-old striker who has the Arsenal scouts interested in his services, and while you have probably never heard of Kelechi Iheanacho, here are five things that I think you should know about him.
1) The young forward plays for Taye Academy, a Nigerian club.
2) He also represents his country at youth level, and helped Nigeria win the U17 World Cup in United Arab Emirates recently.
3) He was crowned the most valuable player at the competition, scoring six goals and claiming seven assists in his seven appearances.
4) His agent is a chap called Harry Galeano.
5) Although the forward is primarily a striker, he has also been deployed in the attacking midfield area and on the right flank.
The young forward is apparently keen to follow in the footsteps of Nwankwo Kanu, who scored 44 goals in 198 games for the Gunners between 1999-2004 and also racked up 12 goals in 87 games for Nigeria.
