Edin Dzeko is having a tough time at Manchester City at present. The lanky Bosnian striker has found himself at the centre of some abuse form frustrated City fans, despite continuously displaying his credentials. He finished last season as the club’s top scorer and has scored three goals this term in spite of his minimal playing time. He is now being linked with a move back to the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund, and I think he should grab the opportunity with both hands.
Dzeko is a cracking player. He does not produce the energy levels that Carlos Tevez did at the Etihad, nor does he carry the flair that the likes of Sergio Aguero does, but he’s a strong that scores goals and offers Manuel Pellegrini something different.
A switch back to the league where he was named top scorer back in 2009/10 could refresh the forward and give him the confidence that would surely see him as a major player in the German leagues.
Dortmund look set to lose Robert Lewandowski within the next six months and are on the search for a player who can lead their attack, and Dzeko’s presence and intelligence could certainly put a case forward to do so.
Should Dzeko look to join the Bundesliga side? Certainly, in my opinion.
