We are now 11 games in to the Premier League season and Arsenal are top of the league. They also lead the way in their Champions League spot. After early success, here are three things that Arsenal fans have learned about Arsene Wenger this season.
1) He can spend money
After years of getting ribbed about the little money that he has spent, Wenger splashed out on Mesut Ozil this summer and has reaped the rewards. You get what you pay for isn’t always the case in football, but he certainly gained a cracking player in Ozil and he has brightened the club on and off the pitch.
He has injected belief back into the club and has created 23 chances this season in the Premier League, as well as scoring twice.
2) He knows what he’s doing
It wasn’t long ago that the red half of north London wanted Wenger’s head on a plate and some were even boycotting the club. However, the Gunners board stuck with the wily old Frenchman and it’s paid off.
His beliefs and style of play are again paying off for the capital club and he has shown once again that he knows exactly what he’s doing.
3) His confidence in youth is a good thing
Without going too much into the malarky of you don’t win anything with kids, Wenger’s confidence in his young contingent is refreshing as it is successful.
He now has Wojciech Szczesny, Carl Jenkinson, Kieran Gibbs, Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as key stars in his first team, as well as the likes of Serge Gnabry.
