After 11 Premier League games this season, here are three things that we have learned from David Moyes’ start as Manchester United boss.
1) He needs a bit of time
It was a shaky start from Moyes to say the least, but when you’re taking over from a man who has essentially built the club up from nothing into the success it has become and has been functioning there for 27 years, it was always going to be tricky.
However, the majority of fans stuck by the former Everton boss and it seems as though it paid off.
United are now just five points off the top after 11 games and are unbeaten five league outings.
2) If they’re good enough, their old enough
Adnan Januzaj was virtually an unknown a few months ago, but Moyes recognised his talent and brought him into the fold.
The 18-year-old has played six league games and scored twice this season.
3) Rooney is a striker
Much was said when Fergie left as Rooney had apparently been whinging on about leaving his deep role for a spot up top. But when you have Robin van Persie scoring for fun in the one striker slot it’ hard toaccommodate.
However, Moyes has stuck Rooney up top with the Dutchman and it’s certainly paying off, as they’ve scored 12 league goals between them – Rooney chipping in with five. He has also created 16 chances.
