Arsenal And Manchester United Looking At £16m Winger, But What Could He Offer?

It seems as though Arsenal and Manchester United are ready to battle it out for the signature of Alessio Cerci, a winger currently plying his trade with Serie A side Torino. The reports come from the Daily Star who say he is rated at £16m, and also that United have been watching him for some time now. But what has he got to offer?

The former Roma forward is a skillful player who enjoys running at full-backs. Flooded with typically-Italian flair, Cerci also has an impeccable delivery which he has proven over and over again this season.

He has created 12 chances this season for the Italian strugglers – Torino have won just twice and are currently on a eight game winless run – but it’s been his goals that have seen caught the eye. The Italian international has scored eight goals this season in his 12 games, seven of which have come from inside the box.

He has had 25 shots at goal, 18 of which have hit the target, and won over half of his 56 take on attempts. His pass accuracy could do with some work – he has completed just 70% of his balls, but that’s partly down to the fact a lot of those have been so ambitious.

Should the Italian land in the Premier League in January then whoever picks him up will be getting a real talent.

Here’s a clip that suggests that.
