Queens Park Rangers have been in the news this week regarding a potential fine for overspending last season, but it appears that they have an expensive player in their views and are willing to fight Manchester City for his services. The player I refer to is Valencia playmaker Carles Gil, who is currently plying his trade on loan at Elche, who were promoted to La Liga last season.
But what can he offer?
As touched upon, Gil is a playmaker who thrives in the central areas. Despite the newcomers winning just three of their 13 games this season Gil has flourished. The 20-year-old has made 20 key passes in his 12 appearances and completed 82% of his passes. He has also won 7/10 of his tackles, which shows his determination to work hard for the team.
He is still a young player who is learning his trade, but from the glimpses we have seen this season it looks as though it will be one hell of a career.
He is a Spanish U21 international, also, and has been tipped by many fans to make the jump into the senior side sooner rather than later.
Gil is an exciting player, and should he make a move to England then I’d stick my neck on the line and suggest it will be to the Premier League.
