Some Arsenal fans believed that their club would land the services of Liverpool striker Luis Suarez in the summer when the South American pleaded to be let go, but as it stands he is still a Liverpool player and he is enjoying a purple patch in front of goal. However, Sports Direct News are now running an exclusive regarding the Gunners’ interest in the Uruguayan, saying that they will go in for him again in the new year now Real Madrid have turned their attention to Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero.
But where would he fit in at the Emirates should a move transpire? We had a look back in August why Suarez was perfect for Arsenal, and nothing has changed since.
Suarez is a player who can play up top as a centre-forward or on either wing, as well as holding the ability to sit just behind the spearhead. He has the flexibility that all top teams are on the search for and would, for me, be the ideal player to complete the Arsenal attack.
With Santi Cazorla on the left, Mesut Ozil in the middle and Suarez on the right, with Giroud leading the line, that’s a front quartet capable of winning the league in my eyes.
He has scored eight goals in just six Premier League games this season and has shown how effectively he can lead the line, so when Giroud needs a rest he can go up top and Theo Walcott can come on to the right.
For me, Suarez is the perfect man for Wenger.
