I will start off by saying that I’m taking the age of the teenagers now rather than their age by time the time they could make their transfer. So, if a player is 19 now but 20 in March and still hasn’t moved to the Premier League then, I’m not taking that information on board. Besides, I think one player in my list will fall into that category. If a player is 19 before the start of the January transfer window then they can qualify for this list:
1. Zakaria Bakkali
The 17-year-old is regularly turning out for PSV at the moment with 10 games under his belt already plus three goals, all of which came in one match. Injuries have prevented him from making more appearances and he’s actually injured at the moment, but that hasn’t stopped the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal tracking him.
2. M’Baye Niang
Niang was very close to a move to the Premier League before he joined AC Milan as Arsenal took him on trial and were in the process of offering him a contract when he signed for AC. However, with Milan in a spot of bother at the moment, the player may look elsewhere to make a name for himself
3. Kurt Zouma
The 19-year-old centre-back has drawn a lot of attention from the media for his world class performances for Saint-Etienne. He’s already part of the French national team, although he’s yet to make an appearance.
4. Adrien Rabiot
The PSG midfielder is a player with an incredible amount of skill and ability, as I covered in an article about him recently, but his future with PSG hangs in the balance because of his club’s spendng powers. A whole host of Premier League sides are keeping a watchful eye on his situation
5. Will Hughes
Hughes is the next big thing in English football according to the tabloids. He’s been labelled as the next Jack Wilshere because he’s likely to break into the England team soon and make a lasting impact as Wilshere has done. Liverpool are his biggest admirers, although Arsenal and Chelsea have both been linked with the Derby County star.
6. Matthias Ginter
The player that will be 20 midway through the January transfer window which is why I had to type out that long first paragraph. I included him over some younger players because of the continued interest shown by Arsenal over the summer. Many reports suggested that the German would make the switch in the summer but nothing ever materialised.
7. Max Meyer
If you are keen reader of my articles then you may have picked up on this guy’s name a few times. The German is something of a ‘wunderkid’ in his native country. He currently plays for Schalke and is definitely one to watch in Germany.
8. Marc-Oliver Kempf
The 18-year-old is currently in Eintracht Frankfurt’s second team but I’m sure he’ll make the step up soon. If not, then a Premier League club on the lookout for a young centre-back will have to consider this player.
9. Alvaro Vadillo
As a Real Betis fan, I know an awful lot about Vadillo and the hype that surrounds him. He is a very gifted player that loves to run at defenders. Both Manchester clubs have expressed an interest in him but I’m sure Betis won’t want to let him go just yet.
10. Oliver Torres
If you really have read my previous articles then you will have definitely come across Torres. You will also have seen how much I’ve raved about him since I started to watch him play just over a year ago. He is a simply incredible player that will find his way into the Spanish first team in the near future.
