We all know what Christopher Samba is about – he’s a big, domineering centre-halg who take no messing about and is ready to plough through a striker at any given opportunity. The former Arsenal target truly frightning and he could be coming back to the English toplight, as Newcastle and West Ham are said to be interested.
West Ham interested in a big lump? What a surprise.
The reports suggest that the big Congolese defender is looking for a return to England to be closer to his family, but he’s also only played twice in the Russian Premier League season this term with current club Dinamo Moscow.
In those games, he has won 4/6 of his headers and averaged seven defensive actions per game, but neither game he has played in have turned out as a win, unlike the games either side of his presence.
His muscular frame makes it almost impossible for a player to wrestle their way past him and his height allows him to dominate in the air.
For me, I’d like to see Samba back in the country as it’s rare that you see such a powerful athlete playing a nimble game, and the fact he wasn’t great last time round with Queens Park Rangers means that I would like to see him redeem himself.
