5 Players Who Could Soon Arrive At The Emirates Stadium

Arsenal always have a number of players linked with them every day of the year. Because of the huge differences in the players they buy in terms of age and what league they are in, there are often plenty of rumours linking them with cheap Ligue 2 players, for example. However, after signing Mesut Ozil, they’re now being linked with big players, which has definitely been the case this past week.

It’s interesting to see who is linked with Arsenal because it usually requires opening up YouTube and finding a compilation to gain some idea of how good the player is. But YouTube is never an acceptable way of developing your own scout report on a player, you must do at least a bit more research. If their team is on the TV, watch it. If you see an opinion article on the player, read it. That’s how you gain the best understanding. Anyway, that’s a roundabout way of introducing you to my article on five players that have been linked with Arsenal in the past week:

1. Thierry Henry

The Arsenal legend has been training with the Gunners these past few weeks, just like he did before they signed him on loan back in January 2012. Wenger has of course ruled out buying him and claims he’s just training with the club to maintain fitness during the MLS off-season. However, he claimed that the last time and we all know what happened after that. This rumour isn’t completely dead just yet.

2. Edinson Cavani

We’ve gone from a loan signing of a former legend to a superstar worth in excess of £50 million. Cavani is apparently unhappy at Paris Saint-Germain because he doesn’t want to play second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic. But, as expected, Arsenal aren’t alone in this situation, with Barcelona and Real Madrid both reportedly monitoring him the player as well.

3. Alvaro Morata

There have been strong reports today suggesting that Morata will be heading to the Emirates on loan in January as a number of Spanish based journalists and newspapers have recently stated. Morata has apparently said that he will be on his way as soon as the legal department sort everything out. Whether these reports are true or not remain to be seen, but this rumour does appear to have legs so watch this space.

4. Julian Draxler

The German was strongly linked with a move to Arsenal over the summer, with some tabloids suggesting that it was between him and Mesut Ozil. However, reports in the past week suggest that Draxler is still very interested in signing for the Gunners and, during an interview with the player by a German news outlet, he revealed his admiration for the North London club and that he feels that Arsenal play his style of football.

5. Antonio Sanabria

As the latest Barcelona starlet linked with a move to Arsenal, Sanabria is a 17-year-old centre forward who is currently churning out performances for the Barca ‘B’ side, in which he has earned himself six appearances and scored once.

Another great fact about this youngster is that he already has three caps for the Paraguayan national team at first team level. It is important to remember that he is just 17, which may take a while to sink in. Representatives of both parties reportedly met up last Wednesday and it looks as though a deal will be announced shortly. That makes for very exciting times indeed.
