10 Big Players In Europe Who Premier League Clubs Should Be Looking To Sign On Loan

A follow up article to my previous one regarding some Premier League players who could be on the loan market in January. In this article I’ll be looking at 10 players in the rest of Europe that could also be on the loan market in January. It contains a mixture of players, most young, that are struggling to gain minutes on the pitch due to competition. Anyway, here’s my list.

1. Christian Tello

The Spaniard burst onto scene at Barcelona in the 2011/2012 season as a lightning quick winger with feet as quick as anything you’d ever seen. Because of this, he was linked with a number of moves to England with Liverpool attempting to bring him to Anfield on numerous occasions. The form of Pedro, Alexis Sanchez and Neymar could force Barcelona to send the player on loan in order for him to gain more minutes.

2. Isaac Cuenca

This player also burst onto the scene in the 2011/2012 season in the same manner as Tello because both were seen as quick wingers with very good feet. However, Cuenca has suffered a couple of serious injuries that have allowed Tello to progress more than him. Cuenca is yet to make an appearance this season.

3. Alex Song

The former Arsenal star is having a torrid time at Barca with many reports suggesting that the Spanish giants will attempt to shift him out of the club in the summer but a loan move in January to prove what his worth would be advisable. A good defensive midfielder that can anchor the midfield well who could be a solid addition to most Premier League sides.

4. Alvaro Morata

Strong reports have emerged over the past couple of days which have suggested that Morata will be going on loan to Arsenal in January. Nothing has been confirmed but it shows that the player could available for a move. The player is battling Jese Rodriguez and Karim Benzema for a place in the starting line up which is why Madrid may be looking at clubs for the player to go on loan to

5. Jese Rodriguez

As I mentioned in the previous paragraph, he has a constant battle with the two other Madrid players for spot in the starting line up. However, he doesn’t ever really win the battles which could force the player to force a loan move away if things don’t pick up soon. Of course, if Morata goes on loan then Rodriguez will stay for depth but if Morata leaves then who knows.

6. Xherdan Shaqiri

The former Basel star arrived at Bayern Munich with so much promise and potential but fast forward to the present day and he’s used as a bit-part player that can put in a shift late on in the game. The Swiss international could look elsewhere if he feels as though it’s hindering his career.

7. Jan Kirchhoff

The 23-year-old is part of a Bayern Munich midfield that is very well stocked at this moment in time as they have Javi Martinez, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Toni Kroos, Thiago Alcantara, Alessandro Schopf, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Mario Gotze. It’s therefore fair to say that trying to get into the Munich side is very difficult.

8. Javier Pastore

I mentioned him in my previous article about 3 playmakers that Tottenham Hotspur should sign in January but what I didn’t suggest is that Pastore could just be a loan deal as PSG tend to want to keep top talents. However, the player could be one who forces a move through in the end.

9. Adrien Rabiot

Rabiot is another player that is rather out of the picture at Paris Saint-Germain because of his age and the fact that he has to compete with Thiago Motta, Blaise Matuidi and Marco Verrati. He also has to deal with any player that PSG decide to buy that can play in his position because they can do that.

10. Jeremy Menez

The third and final PSG player on this list but still deserving of a place because the French club are just so rich in depth that they can probably afford to loan or sell a number of different players. The fact that Menez could be on the loan market is quite incredible considering the players talent but it may well be the case.
