0 Shots On Target And 0 Key Passes: Should Moyes Drop Manchester United Forward For Champions League Clash?

Manchester United host Shakhtar Donetsk tonight in a crucial Champions League match at old Trafford. As United are already through to the knock out stages having won three and drawn two of their five group games already, it gives David Moyes the chance to unleash some of the players who haven’t had much of a chance so far this season. But there is one man I think who he should take out of the side, rather than put in it.

Javier Hernandez is one of the most able poachers in European football – his goal demographic proves that. If there is a loose ball in the box then it’s likely that the Mexican will pounce on it and it will often end in the back of the net.

However, Chicharito is struggling to find any form in a faltering Manchester United side this season, and despite playing in three of their five Champions League games so far, he’s yet to score a goal.

It’s no wonder, though, as he’s mustered just one shot in that time, and it was off target. There is an evident link missing at the club between midfield and the strikers, something which Wayne Rooney and Shinji Kagawa plugged last season under Sir Alex Ferguson, but with the former being pushed up front and the latter apparently not being fancied, it has left Hernandez struggling to link up.

His presence in the box has been non-existent, also, as he’s lost all four of his headed duels this campaign. He’s made no chances, according to Squawka, and according to their performance score he sits on zero.

Perhaps it’s time to take him out of the team as if United lose this game then the pressure on Moyes’ back will be monumental.

United fans, what do you reckon?
