Forget Koke, This Is The Midfielder Who Manchester United Should Be Signing

According to numerous reports, Atletico Madrid’s Koke is not keen on a potential move to Manchester United, a transfer that would have fans of the Old Trafford outfit purring. However, I have another player who United could swoop for should David Moyes fail with his quest.

The man that I would suggest the United bosses go for is Valencia midfielder Ever Banega as the 25-year-old continues to impress in La Liga.

Unlike anything that United currently have, Banega is an energetic box-to-box midfielder who is comfortable in both his defensive and offensive duties.

So far this season, he has made 12 starts and appeared twice as a substitute, and has averaged 50 passes per game so far. From those, 85% have reached their target and 28 have been judged to be key passes.

He has claimed three assists, scored one goal and made 31 tackles in his game time and could gel the likes of Michael Carrick and Shinji Kagawa together with his energetic approach.

Banega is a player who will give you a strong performance every game despite not setting the world alight and is someone who you only really appreciate when he is out of the team. The unsung hero is certainly someone who I would be looking to sign if I was David Moyes.
