No Carrick? Top 5 Passers In The Premier League
After 16 games of the Premier League season, I thought that I would have a look and see who the top passers were in the topflight according to the number of completed passes.
1) Yaya Toure – Manchester City
The ultimate midfield in my eyes, Toure has been incredible again this season. He has already grabbed 10 goals this term, one more than the whole of last year, but that’s been overshadowed by his passing.
The Ivorian has made 1185 passes so far in the league, 1078 of which have been successful. He is the only player with over 1000 accurate passes this season in the English top tier.
2) Aaron Ramsey – Arsenal
The Wales international has been brilliant this season both in his goal scoring and in his general play. Ramsey has made 1127 passes in total, completing 958, which gives his a completion rate of 85%.
3) Steven Gerrard – Liverpool
Gerrard is renowned for his raking passes and impressive distribution and this season has been no different. Playing from a deeper position, the Liverpool skipper has completed 865 passes so far in his 15 games.
4) Steven N’Zonzi – Stoke
Probably a surprise inclusion as the Potters aren’t known for their love of passing, but the midfielder has completed 846 balls in his 1440 minutes on the pitch.
5) Chico Flores – Swansea
The Spaniard has attempted 933 passes so far in his 15 appearances and completed 835, giving him a success of 89%.
