Manchester United:Unleash Welbeck, Play Through The Middle And Stick Jones In CDM Against West Ham

Manchester United are looking to continue their climb up the table tomorrow as they host West Ham United, who themselves are fresh off a 2-1 victory over Tottenham in the League Cup this week. The Hammers will be flying high and confident of getting something out of the game, so here is some advice that I would give David Moyes.

Firstly, Danny Welbeck has to start. The lanky striker was in fine form against Aston Villa last weekend scoring twice and adds pace, precision and a physical presence up top. With Robin van Persie ruled out and Wayne Rooney unlikely to be fit enough to start, the chances of seeing Welbeck leading the line is high, I would have thought.

With rumours rife regarding the future of the United strikers, this could finally be the season Welbeck proves his worth, and you can bet on the countries which qualified for the World Cup, especially in group D, will be keeping an eye on the England international ahead of the big one in the summer.

Secondly, I would sacrifice a winger for Shinji Kagawa, as West Ham concede the majority of their goals through the middle. In fact, 18 of the 19 goals they have let in have come through the centre of the pitch.

I would also keep Phil Jones at centre midfield, holding the fort as he has done such a sterling job over the past few weeks when deployed there.

So, in brief, unleash Danny Welbeck, play through the middle and stick Phil Jones at CDM against West Ham.
