If there was one position in the Manchester United squad that I would have said didn’t need reinforcing, it would be the forwards. However, the Daily Sport are reporting that David Moyes is closing in on 17-year-old striker Robert Muric, who could be available for as little as £300,000 despite being valued at £6m – but who is he and what could he offer Manchester United? Here is what I know of him so far.
The teenager currently plays his game in Croatia with Dinamo Zagreb and is a player who has very quick feet. He can run in behind the defences or hold the ball up, and his composure in front of goal often leads to him scoring when put through.
Traditionally a right winger, Muric can play anywhere across the frontline and therefore could be of huge use to Manchester United should he sign.
He does not have the strength of Wayne Rooney or the ability of Robin van Persie, nor does he have the instinctive facility of Javier Hernandez, but what he does have is a shed-load of confidence and the potential to go on and have a huge future.
He would obviously be a player for the future, but I would say that it would be a positive move despite some fans criticising.
