All seemed well at Arsenal in the striker department of late, as Theo Walcott and Lukas Podolski retutned from injury to provide Olivier Giroud with some support, and Nicklas Bendtner did the unthinkable and actually started scoring. However, the latter is now sidelined with injury and so reports about the Gunners siging a striker this month have resurfaced. This time, according to the Daily Mail, Arsene Wenger has his eye on Mario Mandukic or Bayern Munich – but what would he offer the north London side should he sign?
You only had to catch a glimpse of him last season to see what he’s about – the Croatia international scored 15 Bundesliga goals in his 24 outings and was influencial in both the league and the cups.
This time round his goals to game ratio has been just as strong, scoring 10 in 16 so far. He has also made 16 key passes and won over half of his headers, which is something that could benefit Arsenal hugely.
He’s a strong player who floats around the box picking up scraps, but he can also turn the game on its head with a single pass or piece of magic, which, again, can only benefit Wenger’s side.
For me, Madzukic is exactly what Arsenal need up top, and if you don’t believe me then watch the clip below.
