Why Liverpool Should Forget About Kalou And Swoop For Bundesliga Ace

Liverpool have had a superb start to the season and all those who are affiliated with the club will be hoping that they can push on in the remaining months. A big part of that will be keeping hold of Luis Suarez, but the Uruguayan needs a bit of support in my eyes.  Sure, he has Daniel Sturridge when he returns from injury, but I feel that another wouldn’t hurt Brendan Rodgers’ side. The Mirror is reporting that former Chelsea man Salomon Kalou is a target for the Anfield outfit, but I would suggest that they forget about him and move for Hoffenheim’s Kevin Volland.

The 21-year-old has really come to life this season as he follows on his bright season last time out. So far this season he has scored seven goals in his 16 Bundesliga outings and has grown in confidence every game.

He has a predatory instinct that isn’t often seen in young players and combines it with his calmness in front of goal. He is always floating around and sniffing out opportunities to pounce on and is effective from numerous positions on the pitch.

He can latch on to balls floated over the top, spin in behind defenders or burst through with pace.

If my words don’t do it for you, then watch this clip of Volland against Borussia Monchengladbach.
