Chelsea climbed to the top of the Premier League table yesterday afternoon as they eased past Hull City. It took a while for the Blues to break the deadlock but they controlled proceedings throughout, and Jose Mourinho will be happy with the three points. Here are three things we learned from the game.
1) Torres can still lead the line
A lot has been said about the Spanish striker since he arrived in west London, but he scored his fourth goal of the season with a very neat finish. He had three shots at goal, won half of his take ons and won eight of the 15 headed duels that he went up for, which is a respectable amount.
2) Hazard is crucial for the Blues
The little Belgian is brilliant to watch and he proved again that he can win the game. He won 4/7 of his take ons, made a key pass and scored a remarkable goal. He has the touch, the technique and the mental ability to drive Chelsea to the title.
3) Hull put up a good fight in the middle
Hull made more tackles than Chelsea, made more interceptions and made as many key passes at the Blues did, showing their strengths once again.
