FOUR Arsenal Players Who MUST Be Dropped After Everton Defeat

Being an Arsenal fan, I am incredibly embarrassed today. Although I didn’t manage to get up to the game at Goodison Park – applause to those who did – I saw the game. Everton smashed us all over Merseyside, and I for one want to see some sort of action against the players. Here are four players who must lose their place in the side after the defeat.

1) Mikel Arteta

Today was a complete shambles. Mikel Arteta was slow, his touch was off and he looked intimidated by the whole situation. While he was booed by the Everton fans, he left Mathieu Flamini exposed on a number of occasions.

He also scored the own goal, and got involved in a late scuffle, which didn’t help matters.

2) Thomas Vermaelen

I don’t care who take his place, but he has to be dropped. His positioning is awful and he was at fault for the first, and could have done better with the second. The Arsenal backline looked a mess today and the Belgian’s poor performance was part of that.

3) Nacho Monreal

The first two goals came from Everton’s right side, where Monreal was defending. He was shocking in both, and was roasted throughout by the confident Everton attack. Perhaps switching Sagna to the left and sticking Carl Jenkinson on the right could work.

4) Olivier Giroud

Giroud is slower than the Eifel tower. His movement is horrendous to watch and he never looked like scoring – not even with his flicked effort in the first half. Yaya Sanogo looked livlier and ultimately hungrier for the ball, and although he was stranded up front by himself when he came on he still provided more of a spark than his compatriot.
