Chelsea Target Given The Thumbs Up After Horrific Leg Injury As Atleti Continue Fight For La Liga Title
Diego Simeone has calmed fears that Atletico Madrid’s talisman Diego Costa may be out for some time, after injuring himself while scoring his side’s second goal on Sunday.
Costa met Adrian Lopez’s cross at the back post to secure the points for Atletico but his momentum carried the forward into a collision with the post.
Despite a nasty cut which saw the Brazilian born striker taken immediately to hospital, Simeone told Sky Sports that he is well.
That will be music to the ears of Atletico fans, with only five league games remaining, if Atletico win all five they will win La Liga for the first time since 1996.
That is results went there way elsewhere as Barcelona suffered another shock defeat, this time 1-0 at the hands of lowly Granada. Atletico are now three points clear at the top.

Despite injuring himself in the process that goal put Costa ahead on 26 goals ahead of an out-of-form Lionel Messi and only two goals behind the now injured Cristiano Ronaldo.
Costa is having an incredible season, with his goals propelling Atletico to new heights this season both domestically and in the Champions League and has been linked with a summer switch to Chelsea.
With Ronaldo out injured, Costa has the chance to put another cherry on the cake and become the first Atletico player since Diego Forlan in 2009 to win the Pichichi.
