Chelsea host Sunderland this afternoon in the day’s late kick off. The Blues can climb back to the top of the league with Liverpool playing tomorrow, and although Jose Mourinho’s men are going up against the side at the foot of the table, they will have to work hard to win the game. Here is how they should line up.
I’d stick with the 4-2-3-1 formation as it is very flexible. I would have Petr Cech in goal, with John Terry and Gary Cahill operating in the middle of defence. I think this would be the perfect time to introduce Ashley Cole back into the side, and to have Branislav Ivanovic on the right.
In the central slots of midfield I would choose Frank Lampard and Nemanja Matic, as it provides a nice balance in the middle of the pitch. In the wide areas I would have Willian and Mohamed Salah.
They would provide some nice support for the central striker whoever it may be. In my eyes it should be Demba Ba, just to let him have a run out and try to prove his worth.
In the hole I would have Oscar, as I think he can do everything.
Blues, how would you set up?
