The Champions League semi-finals kick off this evening as Atletico Madrid host Chelsea at the Vicente Calderon. Jose Mourinho knows how hard it will be for the Blues to get a result tonight, he doesn’t need me to tell him, but I think if he fields this team that he can do just that.
In a 4-2-3-1 formation I would have Petr Cech in goal, and stick with the same central defensive pairing as they have all season – Gary Cahill and John Terry.
On the right I would have Cesar Azpilicueta, and on the left I would probably go for Ashley Cole, both as a result of Branislav Ivanovic’s suspension.
In the central slots I would have Brazilian pairing David Luiz and Ramires, as I think it would have the necessary bite to stifle Atleti’s free-flowing midfield.
Just in front I would opt for Oscar, with Willian and Andre Schurrle on either side of the attack. Both are quick players who are more than able in attack, but both are willing to chip in defensively.
Despite Fernando Torres having more to prove than some tonight, I would start Samuel Eto’o up front.
Blues, would you agree with that starting 11?
