Sandro is fast becoming the forgotten man at White Hart Lane this season – much like Emmanuel Adebayor was in the first half of the campaign. However, the 25-year-old decided to publicise his recent absence from the squad on social network site Twitter at the weekend which left his manager Tim Sherwood admitting: “Sandro is not good enough for my squad at the moment.”
According to Football Direct News, Liverpool are preparing a bid for the midfielder.
Here is how Sandro would fit into Brendan Rodger’s side. Steven Gerrard has found a new lease of life in the holding midfielder role, but both he and Sandro have different qualities. Therefore, this would make them an ideal partnership in supporting the attacking wealth currently on view at Anfield.
Sandro would join fellow Brazilian Lucas Leiva as one of two combative midfielders for the current league leaders. They both break up play and keep their play simple in order to retain possession.
Neither player is able to step in and fill the boots of captain Gerrard. The Liverpool skipper has an incredible passing range and he will be forever seen as his side’s inspiration whilst he is on the playing books at Anfield.
The red half of Merseyside will be looking to add further quality to their squad following what has been a sensational campaign. Sandro has proven Premier League quality and I can see him adding invaluable steel and power to the Liverpool midfield.
