Liverpool can take one step closer towards a first Premier League trophy this afternoon as they host Chelsea at Anfield. The game is going to be a tense one, but I think Liverpool will win. Here are three reasons why.
1) Anfield
Anfield has been a fortress for Liverpool this season and I see no reason for why that would stop today. only Chelsea have a better points record at home this season, and that’s only by a point. Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool have all won 15 games on their own turf today.
2) Sterling
The teenager is one of massive talent. His involvement in the Reds team this season is a big reason why they are fighting for the title, and I think the Chelsea defence could struggle against him and his attacking team-mates today.
Sterling has played 30 Premier League games this season, nine as a substitute, and has scored nine goals to his name. He also has four assists, wins 2.6 dribbles per game and has registered 43 key passes to date.
And he’s the least prolific of the front three…
3) No John Terry
John Terry is apparently injured and unlikely to play any part in the tie. Although Chelsea have the best defence in the league, Terry has been at the heart of that and will be a big blow to the Blues.
I think Liverpool will take advantage of that.
