According to an exclusive report from Football Direct News, Manchester United could make a surprise move for Everton target Carlos Bacca, who currently plays for La Liga side Sevilla. Despite already having Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez, it is thought that the Red Devils are keeping a close eye on the Colombian, but who is he, and what could he offer United?
The 27-year-old has caught the eye in the Spanish topflight this season, scoring 14 league goals and claiming five assists. His slight frame means that he relies on his quick feet and quick movement to get in behind the opposition defenders.
He is comfortable dropping into a deep role to collect the ball and is one of the best when running at his opposite number, either creating an opportunity by having a strike at goal or threading a ball through to a team-mate.
He averages two shots per game in the league and has scored four goals in the Europa League so far in his 11 appearances.
For me, he isn’t in the same bracket as Rooney or van Persie, but if United were to offload Hernandez then I would think that he is a suitable replacement.
