This is possibly the biggest game of Chelsea’s season to date. This evening sees Jose Mourinho’s men take to the field for their Champions League tie with Atletico Madrid, with the winners securing their place in the final against Real Madrid. If I was Mourinho, this is how I would line my side up.
Mark Schwarzer would be the man between the sticks, as Petr Cech looks to be unavailable, and he has proved his worth in the previous two games.
In the middle of defence I would have John Terry and Gary Cahill, should the former be passed fit. If not, I think Ivanovic is a reliable replacement. Should Terry play, I would have Ivanovic on the right of defence, and put Azpilicueta back on the left.
In the holding slots of midfield I would have David Luiz and Ramires, as both are energetic and willing to put a shift in, while just in front I’d opt for Oscar. The little Brazilian has a huge amount of creativity, but also helps out defensively.
On the left wing I would go with Eden Hazard, and on the right Willian, if they are both available, and stick Samuel Eto’o up top to lead the line.
Who would you go for, Chelsea fans?
