Gerrard Wants Liverpool To Buy Big This Summer: THREE Players Who Rodgers Should Move For

Steven Gerrard has urged Liverpool to splash the cash in the summer to keep pace with those at the top, according to reports, so here are three players who Brendan Rodgers should be looking to sign.

1) Eliaquim Mangala – Porto

The powerhouse defender is the perfect player to come in and settle the Liverpool backline. It is undoubtedly Liverpool’s defence that has cost them the title this season, with Martin Skrtel and Daniel Agger struggling, and Kolo Toure unable to find any consistency.

Mangala is a 23-year-old who towers above most attackers and easily disables opponents with his strength and pace across the pitch. He is also remarkable on the ball, which fits in with the Liverpool approach, so I would make him the first signing.

2) Adam Lallana – Southampton

Although some don’t want him, I think he would fit in nicely. With Raheem Sterling, Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez operating as a front trio, Lallana could be the more attacking of the three in midfield.

This season the Southampton midfielder has played in every one of the Saint’s league games, and has completed 66 key passes and scored nine. He has a pass accuracy of 84% and has settled into the Premier League with ease.

3) Ashley Cole – Chelsea

Cole is available on a free in the summer and having not played a lot of games for the Blues this season his future looks unsure. He has the experience to slot in at Anfield, but also has a winning mentality. Cole would be perfect to fill the dodgy left-back berth at the club.
