Liverpool & Chelsea Interested In Freebie Turkey International – Player Report

Although Turkish football is largely  overlooked by some fans, their topflight is crammed full of talent. Some of whom you will be all too familiar with – the likes of Didier Drogba, Wesley Sneijder and Dirk Kuyt all ply their trade in the Super Lig. One player who you may not be so familiar with though, is Caner Erkin, who is being linked with a move to both Liverpool and Chelsea.

The left-sided winger will be out of contract when the summer rolls around and the two Premier League clubs have been rumoured to be interested.

But what could he offer?

Currently playing for Fenerbahce, Erkin can play either at left-back or on the left of a midfield, which straight away points towards a move to Liverpool as being the more likely. Brendan Rodgers has struggled on the left of defence this term, though Chelsea also look to be losing Ashley Cole.

Erkin has managed just 15 appearances for Fener this season but has previously racked up an addition 115 games for the club, as well as 26 for the Turkish national side.

Although he’s a quick player, it has been his delivery that his reputation has been built on and the way the ball sticks to his feet when he’s driving forward. He also has a fierce shot on him.

Here is a video of the 25-year-old to tell you a bit more.
