Ivan Rakitic has shot to fame this season because of a string of impressive performances, and I am convinced he is perfect for Manchester United. The Croatia international was part of the Sevilla side that lifted the Europa League last week which crowned a glorious campaign for him.

He has everything that United could want. His technique is second to none and he plays like a player at the top of his game. He is able to find a team-mate regardless of where they stand on a pitch and can split a defence with a single ball or drop of the shoulder.

His pass completion this season currently stands at 80%, though he averages 2.3 key balls per game and has so far notched 10 league assists.

He also has 12 goals.

He can play anywhere in the middle of the park and will drift into the wide areas if needed, something that United need in their side.
