Arsenal fans have known that Bacary Sagna was on his way out for some time now, but it seems to have actually happened. The Gunners’ right-back runs out of contract this summer and has apparently agreed a three-year deal with Manchester City worth £140,000-per-week. Arsenal’s loss is certainly City’s gain.
Sagna is one of the most impressive full-backs in the Premier League despite his age and continues to impress for the Gunners.
Even up to the FA Cup final he put every last bit of effort into his performances and showed just what a professional he is.
City now have the dilemma of choosing Pablo Zabaleta or Sagna, if the move transpires, though it is a nice headache to have for Manuel Pellegrini.
Sagna played in 35 of Arsenal’s 38 Premier League and made 175 clearances. He averaged 1.7 tackles per game, 1.5 interceptions and claimed two assists.
Zabaleta also played in 35 games but made 6 assists. He made 84 clearances, 120 tackles and 70 interceptions.
Having both on your books is enough to make any side jealous.
